STANDARD LENSES  & OPTICAL COMPONENT DESIGN SERVICES

THE VALUE ENGINEERING ALLIANCE maintains a strategic alliance with LENSATION (Karlsruhe, Germany), which makes more widely available the lenses and optical component design services that were previously for the most part limited to customers and clients located relatively close to LENSATION in Germany and neighboring countries.

Companies and individuals with requirements for standard lenses will benefit by being able to obtain at appreciably lower prices lenses and other optical components comparable to those they are currently using. These include various kinds of board lenses, general purpose C-Mount lenses and telecentric lenses, some of which are available in regular and some industrial versions.
However OEMs stand to gain the most from this alliance by being able to:
1) get cost-optimized series productions of their existing designs
2) obtain new designs free of charge by placing volume orders and
3) secure cost effective prototypes.

As for quality, the delivery of top grade goods is assured due to the QC programs in place and the fact the companies that produce LENSATION lenses have extensive experience using and selling lens test equipment. The use of customer-specified test protocols is an available option.

Having access to lens design and manufacturing specialists capable of making high quality lenses as small as 1 mm and as large as 300 mm in diameter, willing to do production runs of as few as five pieces, and with an emphasis on innovation, THE VALUE ENGINEERING ALLIANCE/LENSATION collaboration invites inquiries from all interested parties but especially those whose ideas or projects were rejected by other optics design houses that they approached.

An example of a product developed in this manner is the Lensagon FC825M15, the 185 degree lens shown below, which was specifically designed for use with cameras that feature 15.2 mm x 15.2 mm imaging area sensors such as Kodak’s KAI-402X series CCDs.

ULTRA PRECISE POSITIONING STAGES AND SYSTEMS

THE VALUE ENGINEERING ALLIANCE maintains a strategic alliance with the DTI-NanoTech division of DISCOVERY TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL (Sarasota, FL) to drive the development, implementation and acceptance of nanopositioning systems suitable for use in addressing laboratory, industrial automation and military/intelligence related applications in general and ones that require a combination of computer vision and ultra-precise motion control in particular.

The VEA/DTI alliance makes the enabling technologies harnessed by proven machine vision, nano-robotic and nanopositioning products available to individuals, research labs/institutes, system integrators and OEMs involved with advanced research or the development of next generation products in life sciences/drug discovery, medical device manufacturing, microelectronics manufacturing, lasers, photonics, fiber optics, nanotechnology, defense/security and similar markets.

Software products that support automatic identification, image enhancement, alignment/precision registration, pattern recognition, various forms of grayscale/color/texture analysis and inspection are just some of those in the VEA’s arsenal with the potential to enhance the research, development and implementation efforts of emerging market pioneers accustomed to pushing the envelope and spearheading progress in their respective areas of endeavor.

State-of-the-art NTS NanoDirect series linear nanopositioners that provide unprecedented levels of resolution over long travel distances, the first of its kind RoboMate(TM) hybrid linear-angular device that enables a camera/probe/tool to be precisely positioned at infinitely variable angles with respect to a fixed point on a target sample, NanoRobots for stereotaxic applications, Nanomanipulators which combined with microscopes facilitate stem cell manipulation and in vitro fertilization efforts and piezoelectric rotary motor-based positioning systems which when used to replace ball-joint gimbal systems in angular scanning systems provide unparalleled angular positioning accuracies are examples of DSP controller-based DTI products on which exciting new equipment, systems and solutions can now be built, featuring vision-based functionality whenever conditions demand it. Inquiries are welcome from creative and innovative individuals and organizations interested in establishing strategic alliances to pursue cutting edge opportunities made possible by these advances in positioning related technologies.
